My figurative paintings explore femaleness as a shifting energy rather than a fixed form, a presence that moves between strength and tenderness, sensuality and vulnerability. The bodies in my work emerge and dissolve, never fully contained, like memories that surface and recede. I am drawn to what is felt rather than clearly defined. These paintings hold space for fluidity. The figures resist certainty; they blur boundaries of desire and selfhood.

The Closer paintings, inspired by my twin daughters, speak of intimacy and individuality — two beings deeply connected yet distinct. The figures feel familiar yet slightly distant, inviting viewers to find their own reflections within them. Whether I’m working figuratively or abstractly, I still think of the painting as a whole, colour, texture, and form working together as one living surface.
